The
Treaty of Amsterdam amending the Treaty of the European Union, the
Treaties establishing the European Communities and certain related
acts, commonly known as the Amsterdam Treaty, was signed on October
2, 1997. After formal signing and approval of the Treaty by the
European Parliament on 19/11/1997, each member state ratified the
treaty as follows (the treaty came into force on 1/5/1999). |
