The Cypriot Constitution was adopted in 1960 after the counrty gained independence from the United Kingdom through the Zurich-London agreements and has been amended 5 times since then. The constitutional text contains 186 articles. Cyprus joined the EU in 2004. Its Constitution does not include specific mentions to the European Union.
