The Federal Constitutional Law of Austria was adopted in 1920. It contains eight chapters and 152 articles. Austria became a member of the European Union in 1995. The Austrian Constitution includes a specific subchapter concerning the European Union that regulates several aspects of EU membership (e.g. European Parliament elections, participation of the Laender in the decision-making process, etc).
