During 2007 the Castro Ventosa archaeological site (Cacabelos-Villafranca del Bierzo, León) has subjected to multiple studies in order to understand the settlement and valorize it. The following activity was carried out, together with the following CSD-TCP collaborating groups:

• Geochemical survey of the settlement (EST-AP).
• Geophysical survey of the settlement (EST-AP).
• Archaeological field survey of the settlement and its immediate surroundings (EST-AP).
• Microtopography and morphological study of the settlement (EST-AP).
• 3D scan and analysis of wall evolution (LaPa).
• Archaeological excavation of two areas (EST-AP).
• Archaeological excavation of West Gate (EST-AP).
• Sample collection and analysis of clay and ceramics (CERVITRUM).
• Palynological and carpological study of the West Gate profile (ARQBIO).

The study and valorization of this settlement is currently on pause due to the lack of funding and political will, reasons well beyond the scope of action of the CSD-TCP groups. Scientific results, however, are in the process of being published.
