The Instituto de Arqueología de Mérida and the Instituto de Historia (both CSIC) jointly organize this CSD-TCP workshop under the name "International Mediterranean Survey Workshop", dealing with archaeological survey techniques. It will take place on April 29-30, 2011 at the CCHS (c/Albasanz 26-28; 28037, Madrid), in the room 0E18 ("Menéndez Pidal").

On July 17-21, 2011 a new ESF research conference will take place at the Scandic Linköping Vast (Linköping, Sweden). This edition is titled "Re-Visiting the Contact Zone: Museums, Theory, Practice", and is included within the social sciences and humanities subprogram of the European foundation. As is usual in these, there is a possibility of opting for grants.
Archaeology has the healthy habit of meeting every year to discuss theoretical issues through an itinerant platform which is fairly voluntary in nature. The 33rd Theoretical Archaeology Group conference (TAG), this year known as the Central TAG because this year it takes place in Birmingham (UK), conveniently located in the middle of the country which confers the main impulse to these meetings.
The video produced under the scientific supervision of the CSD-TCP team regarding the Pino del Oro Mining Zone is available on-line. It is being projected in the travelling exhibit titled "Arqueología en la Provincia de Zamora".
The ESF announces a strategic workshop on "Naturalistic Approaches to Culture?", which will take place on September 4th-7th, 2011 in Balatonvilágos (Hungary). It offers 20 invitation awards, including poster participation, for those whose applications are accepted. These applications, though, must be submitted by May 16th.
