Cultural heritage intervention models: research, protection, conservation and valorization

This High Specialization Course will offer specialized training in Heritage Science, in accordance with the objectives of the Research Program on Technologies for Conservation and Revaluation of Cultural Heritage TCP (CONSOLIDER-Ingenio 2010, CSD 2007-2012).
The objective is to provide students with the knowledge and specific tools to enable them, based on their academic backgrounds, to understand the scientific and technological bases for the comprehensive study of Cultural Heritage and create innovative tools to meet the new requirements of research, protection and conservation of CH and its disclosure and valorisation as a durable resource.
The course, like the TCP program, is based on interdisciplinarity and has an essentially practical content. Main topics:

  • An approach to Cultural Heritage in the context of current European trends as maintaining an implicated position the integrity of the cultural goods.
  • The training of professionals and future professionals from different fields in a global vision of heritage, coordinating different disciplines approaches, thus supplying consistent interventions.
  • The multi and trans-disciplinarity, significantly technological and practical, taking advantage of the infrastructure and expertise of the participating groups.

Price
1200€. 20 CSD-TCP scholarships will be given. Beneficiaries will enjoy a reduced inscription fee of 500 €.

Duration
5 months (8 weeks of coursework imparted on alternate weeks).

Hours
120 to 160 according to the specific modules (60% theoretical, 40% practical).
