The call for posters for the Radio-Past colloquium Non-destructive approaches to complex archaeological sites in Europe: a round-up is still open. This colloquium is organized within the framework of the European Marie Curie project “Radiography of the Past”. This project, run by a consortium of 7 European teams from Academia and Industry, developed in recent years as a forum for research and communication about non-invasive survey on complex archaeological sites in Europe (see: http://www.radiopast.eu), organizing integrated fieldwork operations on test-sites, formation weeks for young researchers, etc.. To conclude the 4-year action the project consortium, and in particular the University of Ghent, one of the partners in the project, organizes a three day colloquium under the title “Non-destructive approaches to complex archaeological sites in Europe: a round up”.
The venue is the historical city of Ghent in Flanders and the proposed dates are 15-17th January 2013. This international scientific meeting will have sequential sessions about such topics as : Geo-archaeological Survey , Remote Sensing and Aerial Photography, Geophysical Survey, Digital Technologies and Visualisation and Site Management and Valorization. It will conclude with a round table discussion, rounding up possibilities and future directions of non-invasive survey on large and complex archaeological sites in Europe.
