Within the CSD-TCP program a strong research line has been the environmental impact of Roman gold mining in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula. In this same direction, a further step has been the renewal of the MINEDOR project, financed by the French Agence nationale de la recherche (ANR). This project, which counts on CSD-TCP team members, is called Caractérisation archéologique et paléoenvironnementale des mines d’or arvernes de Haute-Combraille (Protohistoire – Moyen-Age) ("Archaeological and palaeoenvironmental characterization of the Arvernian gold mines of Upper Combraille (Iron Age - Middle Ages)"), is directed by Frédéric Trément, Professor of National Antiquities and Head of the Archaeology Laboratory at the Centre d’Histoire « Espaces et cultures ».
