The 7th edition of the postgraduate course La aplicación de las Tecnologías de Información Geográfica en Arqueología ("The application of Geographic Information Technologies in Archaeology") will take place in two steps during the winter of 2012. The first phase will be the beginners module, which, as is customary, will take place in the Instituto de Arqueología de Mérida (IAM, CSIC) on February 13-22, 2012.
On June 3-17, 2012, the International MA course called Challenging Eternity. Archaeology Heritage Management and Urban Planning in Rome, organized by the Dutch and Swedish institutes in Rome will take place in the Eternal City. International students can apply using the following form to be submitted before January 15th.
The ESF announces a strategic workshop on "Naturalistic Approaches to Culture?", which will take place on September 4th-7th, 2011 in Balatonvilágos (Hungary). It offers 20 invitation awards, including poster participation, for those whose applications are accepted. These applications, though, must be submitted by May 16th.
On May 16th-21st 2011 a training school will take place in Florence and Pisa (Italy), jointly organized by the COST Actions IE0601 and MP0601, with the theme “Wood Cultural Heritage conservation: advanced X-Ray and optical techniques”. The Geomateriales Programme(CSIC-UCM) presents its 2011edition of the CSIC posgraduate course: The conservation of the geomaterials used on Heritage.
In the framework of the FP7 Marie Curie–People IAPP project “Radiography of the Past”, a series of High Formation Summer Schools are being conducted during the years 2010 to 2012. The Second Summer School, which will take place in Ammaia/Portugal from July 3 –9, 2011, is especially concerned with geophysical and geomorphological survey of complex archaeological sites.
